Association of Otolaryngologists of India , AP State Branch was started in early eighties with an inaugural conference at Vijayawada. Since then the Association grew by leaps and bounds and at present it is a vibrant and active branch with a number of academic activities to its credit. Annual Conference is usually held in the month of September every year in different parts of the state. The present membership is about 600. A number of teaching and practicing Otolaryngologists are the active members of the Association. Headed by eminent Otolaryngologists of repute,the Assocaition takes part in academic and social activities.
The Association can boast of senior Otolaryngologists like Dr.Pinnamaneni Narasimha Rao, Dr.S.N.Jain and Dr.T.V.Krishna Rao who were elected as the national Presidents of AOI. Dr.Lakshmipati,Dr.ABN Rao,Dr.Samba Murthy,Dr.Ramanjaneyulu,Dr.Satya-
SatyaMurthy,Dr.Babji,Dr.VenugopalaRao,Dr.Hampaiah,Dr.APAP Reddy,Dr.Sekharan are some of the eminent Otolaryngologists who paved the way.
Every year AOI AP Branch conducts one annual Conference and 3 to 4 Live Surgical Workshops in different parts of the state with national and local faculty.
This year the responsibility of hosting 4th Southzone Conference of AOI has fallen on the shoulders of AOI AP Branch and rightly it has chosen Hyderabad as the host city to conduct 4th Southzone Conference and 27th Annual Conference of AOI AP Branch with Dr.Ranganatha Reddy as the Organizing Chairman and Dr.Ramakrishnaiah as the Organizing Secretary. Earlier also the Southzone Conference was held at Vijayawada, Nellore and Visakhapatnam in previous years. |
